Glen bow Museum - Calgary

Glenbow has surprised and engaged generations of Albertans and visitors to the province with remarkable connections between art, culture and the world around us. Glenbow provides us with a sense of place -- what it means to live in this amazing landscape -- and an appreciation for the legacy of the remarkable people and events that have shaped our community.

Royal Alberta Museum - Edmonton

"The Royal Alberta Museum (RAM) is the largest museum in western Canada and one of the top museums in Canada. Located in the Arts District in downtown Edmonton, we collect, preserve, research, interpret, and exhibit objects and specimens related to the heritage of Alberta's people and natural environment."

This view is from Head-Smashed-In Buffalo Jump. This is a historical site within the Interior Planes region. The First Nation's people used this site to hunt buffalo. They would begin to chase the buffalo and create a stampede off the edge of the cliff. The buffalo were then used to feed families and provide hides for the winter. The First Nation's people really knew how to use the land.

Despite the flat landscape, there are some fun land features that pop up here and there in this landscape. One of the more well known areas is Writing-on-Stone Provincial Park. This park is famous for its land features called, "hoodoos".

Ukrainian Cultural Heritage Village

"The Ukrainian Cultural Heritage Village Society was founded in 1971 to develop a heritage village commemorating the settlement of east central Alberta by Ukrainians. Soon after, the Society bought the present site and began relocating buildings there from farms and towns of east central Alberta."
