Welcome back grade three's! Are you ready for another trip? I've got my bags all packed.

This time I will meet you in Tunisia. I've spoken to your teacher, and we decided to start at the capital: Tunis.

See you there!

Here we are!  Go ahead and take a minute to get settled in. Use your mouse to control where you walk to. Feels hot today - can you feel it?

Our first stop is Zitouna Mosque (also spelt Zaytuna). This is beautiful building is a historic mosque & respected Islamic university. It is the oldest in Tunisia, with a 141-ft bell tower called a minaret.

This is Djerba Island. While it may not look like much, it's actually the site where the famous movies Star Wars were filmed. This little house in front of us is actually used by fishermen as storage. However, in Episode IV it can be seen as the house of Obi-Wan Kenobi.

Here is another Star Wars location!  Tataouine is located in the south of Tunisia. Fun fact: the planet Tatooine in Star Wars got its name from this town. Most of the scenes were shot in the hills and villages surrounding the town. A little further south is Ksar Ouled Soutane which you see here. It is a beautiful ghorfa (grain storage facility). It was used as a background for some of the scenes in Episode I.

Does everyone have their sun screen on? We are now in the Jebil National Park, Tunisia. Also known as the Sahara Dessert.  It's a very dry area with very few plants.

What else do you notice about this park?

Last stop everyone!

You are now looking at the Ancient ruins of Carthage. This used to be a busy city but was taken over by the Romans a long time ago.

Below is the museum tour that I've scheduled you for. Go ahead and walk around - but please, don't touch!
