Atlantic

Region

Welcome to the Atlantic region grade 5's!

Our first stop is the Confederation Bridge. This bridge connects New Brunswick with PEI.

Use your cursor to look around. When you scroll down to the next view, you'll see that I've placed you on the bridge.

Use your mouse to click on the arrows. You can drive across the whole bridge. Don't forget to turn the image to look around! What do you notice??

This view is brought to you by Prince Edward Island. You are standing on the coast line, looking out on the Atlantic Ocean. In fact, you are very close to the Anne of Green Gables historical house.

Use your cursor to look around and move around. Notice the different land features... and the red, red, rocks!

This view is from the lovely Newfound Land and Labrador Island.

Do you see the rocky landscape? Do you notice all the small boats in the water?

What else do you see?

Percé Rock is a huge sheer rock formation in the Gulf of Saint Lawrence on the tip of the Gaspé Peninsula in Quebec, Canada.

The legend has it, when Jacques Cartier (the first colonist) arrived here in 1534, he reported three arches in the massive rock formation. In time, two of the arches crumbled, with the last one collapsing on June 17, 1845, leaving a separated pillar. Can you see the pillar that is separated?

Over time, the water beats up against the rocks which carves out different shapes and arches. This rock is a very beautiful and historic piece of Quebec tourism.
